Most alumni may remember Professor Love from his involvement in FYI, and the previous freshman orientation program NCC 101. This interaction was a favorite experience of Love's, one which he gave up three years ago in anticipation of retirement. He felt that the connections this program provides with students were far too strong to break by retiring in the midst of a student's academic career. Professor Love has served on faculty committees including the Library Advisory Committee and the Educational Policies Committee (a precursor of the current Academic Programs and Policies Committee). Also, in the 1997 college-wide strategic planning process, Love was the co-chair of the Excellence in People Subcommittee.
